Sandy is an independent developer building privacy-first tools for sleep timing and real-life schedules.

Role and limits. Sandy designs and maintains the website and its calculation tools. Sandy is not a physician, sleep specialist or registered clinician and does not diagnose or treat sleep disorders.

Why this project exists

Most sleep calculators give one answer without showing the assumptions behind it. Sandy was built around a different idea: show several options, explain the model, and make the limits visible.

The project focuses on practical timing problems: one night of sleep, a seven-day schedule, a nap, caffeine timing, and shift work. The goal is not to promise perfect sleep. It is to make planning clearer.

How the tools are made

  • Calculations run locally in the browser.
  • No account is required.
  • Inputs are not sent to a server.
  • Assumptions are shown to the user.
  • Every calculator explains what it cannot do.

How content is checked

Health-adjacent explanations are checked against public sources such as the CDC, NIH and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Pages link to sources where practical and distinguish a planning estimate from a medical measurement.

AI-assisted drafting may be used as a working tool, but published pages are reviewed for accuracy, clarity and relevance. The site does not publish auto-generated pages at scale and does not invent medical reviewers.

Corrections and contact

If a page contains an error or an accessibility barrier, use the contact page. Specific feedback with a page URL and supporting source is easiest to act on.
